simple sausage & beer

INGREDIENTS

  • Select your favorite fresh sausages. We chose a mild Italian

  • Select your favorite Local beer. Went with Little Brown Jug IPA (side note: IPA have a very strong hoppiness to them if you are not a fan select a beer more milder in flavor.

  • Grapeseed oil ( any cooking oil will do) Couple splashes

TIME TO COOK

  • Preheat a cast iron pan or one of your choosing - add oil ( medium to high heat)

  • Once pan is ready add fresh sausages (ensure sausages are not frozen. If so thaw completely before cooking)

  • Brown on the sides then turn heat down to medium

  • Start adding the beer. Add the beer in portions not all at once. ( might foam up and spill all over the stove)

  • Once the foam has settled add some more. Continue this process until sausages are cooked.

  • Plate and enjoy!

Our experience with this dish was that the sausage really picked up the flavors of the beer. So ensure it is a beer you like.

Internal temp of cooked sausage should be at 71c or 160F

Sausages were purchased from Deluca’s Italian Grocer in Winnipeg

Beer is local from Little Brown Jug. A must try!
